Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) of CEDIO
CEDIO has established 15 women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to empower local women socially and economically. These groups serve as a platform where members regularly save and deposit their own money, building financial resilience and mutual support systems.
Beyond savings, the SHGs actively engage in a wide range of social awareness initiatives, including health, education, gender equality, and environmental issues. The groups play a vital role in advocating for women’s rights by working closely with local Union Parishads and government administration, ensuring that women's voices are heard in decision-making processes.
CEDIO also facilitates various Income Generating Activities (IGA) through skill-based training programs. These trainings help women develop practical skills, improve livelihoods, and achieve financial independence.
Through collective action, leadership development, and continuous capacity building, CEDIO’s SHGs are contributing to stronger, more confident, and self-reliant communities.
CEDIO has facilitated the formation of 15 women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs) with the objective of promoting socio-economic empowerment and community resilience. These groups function as structured platforms where members regularly mobilize savings through systematic deposits, fostering financial discipline and collective security.
In addition to financial activities, the SHGs actively implement a range of social awareness initiatives, addressing key issues such as public health, education, gender equality, and environmental sustainability. The groups also play a proactive role in rights-based advocacy, engaging with local Union Parishads and relevant administrative authorities to ensure the inclusion of women’s perspectives in local governance and development processes.
Furthermore, CEDIO supports the SHGs by organizing and facilitating various Income Generating Activity (IGA) trainings. These capacity-building interventions are designed to enhance members’ technical skills, improve livelihood opportunities, and promote sustainable income sources.
Through a combination of financial inclusion, social mobilization, and institutional engagement, CEDIO’s SHGs contribute significantly to strengthening women’s leadership, enhancing economic independence, and fostering inclusive community development.
